Generous donors donated fruits
Ms.
Reshma Quraishi, the President of BLESSINGS - An NGO from Seawoods,
Navi Mumbai today donated fruits to the Cancer Patients staying at the
Ashram. They donated five-six fruits such as Apples, Oranges and other
citrus fruits to each and every patient and said that in future they would like
to serve more the poor and needy persons. May the blessings of Guruji Maharaj
bring happiness and prosperity to their lives.

Free Medical services
Free Medical services
From November 2014, at the Ashram
a weekly free medical checkup and counseling session has started. Dr. Sarbani Sengupta comes here in every
Friday and gives her volunteer service to the poor and needy by giving them free
medical and health consultations from 12:30 pm to 4 pm. The cancer patients staying at Ashram, their
attendants and poor persons from the locality are very happy to avail this
service. There is also a free Homeopathy
dispensary being run by the Ashram from many years. Dr. Kasera helps the poor and needy by giving
them advice and homeopathy medicines. The
dispensary remains open on wednesdat, Saturday and Sunday from 5 pm to 6 pm.

JAGADDHATRI PUJA 2014
Like every year for
last 28 years, the Sannyasins of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha celebrated SRI SRI JAGADDHATRI PUJA on 1st November, 2014 at 8:00
am at Bharat Sevashram Sangha premises: 263, Swami Pranavanandaji Marg, Sec –
31A, Vashi, Navi Mumbai – 400703. Social workers and sannyasins participated
from different parts of the country and abroad.
The Celebration
started on Friday, 31st October, 2014, the
auspicious celebration was inaugurated by Mr. Fateh Singh Patil, IPS,
Additional Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai. Mr. V. N. Salve, IPS, Ex-DCP,
Special Branch -1, Mumbai, and Mr.Sukhanand Sabde, IPS, Ex-Dy-Commissioner of
Police, Mumbai were the special guests on this occasion. Prof Kesar Singh, a
prominent social worker, patron and a well wisher of the Ashram for a long time
also present and he introduced the guests.

On Saturday, 1st
November, 2014, at 08:00 AM with Chandi Path, puja of Sri Sri Jagaddhatri
started. Nearly 2000 devotees participated on the puja and yagya. The Maha
Prasad was distributed to the devotees, cancer patients and other poor
persons present on this occasion. In the evening Jagruteshwar Haripath
Mandali of Vashigaon performed Haripath and then there was Rudra Arati.

On Sunday, 2nd
November, 2014, after performing Dashami Puja and Shindur Utsav the Visarjan of
the idol took place at 5 PM at Sector-7 pond, Vashi.
All the programmes were conducted by Swami Souravanandaji & his party under the supervision of the Head, Mumbai & Devbhumi Branches - Swami Prashantananda.

Appeal for J&K Flood Relief

You are fully aware of disastrous landslide, cloudburst
and flood in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Sangha has
started distribution of cooked food, baby-food, clothing, blankets etc. in the
flood affected areas of Udhampur. The Jammu Branch of Bharat Sevashram Sangha,
presently distributing cooked food at Chatani, Panchari, Ramnagar areas of
Udhampur district. They are also
distributing blankets, utensils in Chenab area.
The Sangha is a purely
Charitable Organization and depends entirely on public charities. We fervently

The Jammu branch of

the most affected areas but due to inaccessibility they could not reach.
However a few days later the Sangha has started distribution of cooked food,
baby-food, clothing, blankets etc. in the flood affected areas of Udhampur, Surajchak,
Chhatwari areas in and around of Jammu since 10th Sep, 2014.

31st May – World No Tobacco
Day – at Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Vashi
Being a Home for Cancer Patients World No Tobacco Day is
considered a very important day at for Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Vashi.
The patients who come to stay at the Ashram chiefly belong to the Below Poverty
Level strata, and they often consume tobacco in many forms without even knowing
its ill effects.
Like every year this year also Bharat Sevashram Sangha arranged
awareness program where Ms. Parishi Majamudar and Ms. Kshama Vairagi,
counselors from Department of Preventative Oncology of Tata Memorial Hospital created awareness amongst the participants about the ill effects of Tobacco
and cancer. The program started from 10:30 am. There was question and
answer session with the participants also.
The Ashram promoted and encouraged few sponsored students of the
locality by giving them an opportunity to announce and sing inspirational songs
in the program. Swamiji Siddhatmananda of the Ashram, along with the participants took a pledge
against tobacco and cancer and gave vote of thanks. Afterwards the patients were given fruits
to encourage them to eat healthy and reject unhealthy habits.

Helping Hand is a non-profit
organization started in 2002 with the aim of helping cancer patients. It was started by Mrs. Geeta S. Advani and
her husband Dr. Suresh H. Advani, an eminent oncologist in India. Since 2002, it has grown to have more than
500 voluntary workers including social workers, survivors, friends and
families, doctors and volunteers from all walks of life.
On 29th March 2014, Helping
Hand arranged a colourful programme for the cancer patients residing at Bharat
Sevashram Sangha, Vashi.
The programme started at 10.30 am
and was compared by a veteran volunteer of the Sangha named Mr. Prem
Shrivastava. A welcome speech was given
by Mrs. Geeta Advani. A short speech by Swami Prashantanandaji was
followed by Rabindra Sangeet presented by Mrs. Diya Sinha, Mrs. Manjee Munshi,
& Mrs. Chandreyi Sarkar. Few cancer
patients recited poetries. After that
Dr. Imran Nisar Shaikh gave an interactive talk on “Chemotherapy – After Care”
which was followed by an action song by Mrs. Nilima Davawala. Then there was a
puppet show by Mr. Rohan Malude and a magic show by Mr. Rakesh Gaikwad. Patients enjoyed these shows very much. Then there were various games and activities
for the patients. There was a talk on
Yoga by Mrs. Parashar. All participants were given appreciation awards. All
patients were given a sumptuous meal. The overall programme was arranged
by Ms. Prajakta Mhaparle. The event was a really delightful break for all and much
enjoyed by everyone.
