Sub: Appeal for Uttarakhand Cloudburst Relief

Dear Sir/Madam,

On 13^th September midnight, unprecedented cloudburst, heavy rainfall & flash-flood struck Ukhimath. Which caused complete devastation around Ukhimath, wiping away 9 villages - Mangoli, Bramhankholi, Churni, Prem Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Dungar, Semala, Kimana and Jakhni. All the entry roads to Ukhimath are totally washed away. More than 100 already dead – many dead bodies are under the debris.

Immediately after the disaster Bharat Sevashram Sangha started relief work. 200 victims provided shelter in Swami Pranavananda Vidyamandir, Ukhimath. Everyday 250 homeless persons are being fed twice at the Ashram. The poor students can no longer afford to pay the fees which will lead discontinuity of studies.

Bharat Sevashram Sangha is therefore planning to provide substantial financial assistance to the disaster-hit students for their future education. Bharat Sevashram Sangha is also trying to adopt and rehabilitate at least 20 of the victim families.

Sangha is in dire need of funds to continue the relief work. An estimated amount of Rs. One Crore would be needed for the above mentioned project.

We fervently appeal to all Corporates, Trusts, Foundation to come forward and donate generously in form of financial supplement to tide over the difficulty and stand by the devastated people in their hour of need.

Cheque / Draft may please be drawn in favour of “Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Haridwar.” Donation to the Sangha are exempted from I. Tax U/S 80 –G of I.T. Act vide no. DIT (E) / 121/8E/84/63-64, valid upto Asst. yrs. 2014-15,   PAN – AAATB7331F.
