ART COMPETITION HELD AT ASHRAM ON 24th SEPTEMBER 2017

ART COMPETITION HELD AT ASHRAM ON 24^th SEPTEMBER 2017

An Art competition was held at the Ashram Premises Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Mumbai, during Navaratri.  The date and time was 24^th September 2017 at 1 pm. Children below 15 years were invited to participate in this Art Competition.

The topics for competition were: Rainy Season, Diwali & Your Favourite Cartoon.  There were 18 participants including the cancer patients and local students belonging to poor and needy families, who get free tutorial coaching and basic computer training at our Ashram.  The Event was organised by the students of Bachelor of Mass Media (B. M. M.), Arts from Vivekanand Education Society's College.

Master Subhash R. Singh stood first, followed by Miss Sujata Kumari (2^nd prize) and Master Sanjeev S. (3^rd prize).  They were given appreciation certificates designed by the event conducting students and prizes from Ashram to encourage them. All the children were given appreciation certificates, food and small gifts.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY - 21ST JUNE 2017

PATIENTS PRACTICING YOGA UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF INSTRUCTORS FROM AMBIKA YOGA KUTIR

International Yoga Day - 21st June 2017

Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a spiritual brotherhood of monks and selfless workers dedicated to the service of humanity with non-sectarian, non-communal, non-political character and outlook. It was founded in 1917 by the illustrious patriot saint Yugacharya Sreemat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj. The Sangha is a pioneer in organising relief work at the time of natural calamities like flood, epidemic, famine, earthquake etc. It has hundreds of branches in India and abroad. A socio-cultural organisation, Bharat Sevashram Sangha is founded with a view to serve the downtrodden and economically weaker people.

The major activity of the Mumbai branch is to provide free accommodation to outstation cancer patients coming here for treatment at the Tata Memorial Hospital and at other locations. At present we are accommodating 90 patients and their attendants.

The general health conditions of these persons are not good.  Since last 2 decades, the inmates of Home for Cancer Patients are practicing Yoga under the guidance of expert teachers.  Renowned Yoga Instructors from Shri Ambika Yoga Kutir, are conducting Yoga classes every Saturday from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Yoga helps:

·         To lead a healthy life,

·         To overcome ego and live peacefully,

·         To give up ill practices, e.g., Tobacco & Alcohol consumption etc.

·         To take vegetarian and unexciting diets and

·         Helps practicing Yoga to enhance ones inner strength and control the senses.  

Practicing these instructions many of the patients are feeling better physically and mentally. 

21^st June 2017 is the International Yoga Day.  This day is going to be observed all throughout the world.  In Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Mumbai Premises, on this day, from 5:00 pm onward Instructors from Ambika Yoga Kutir will conduct a special Yoga Session, especially for the Cancer Patients, but all are cordially invited to attend the session.

A WONDERFUL DAY WITH

LIONS CLUB OF CBD BELAPUR, NAVI MUMBAI

On 1st April, Blessings Bahu Uddeshiya Samajik Sanstha and Lions Club of CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai, organised a wonder day for the Cancer Patients staying at our Ashram for their treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel.

They have arranged beautiful musical events, laughter therapy, competition among the patients etc.  Swami Janardan taught Water therapy to all, Saurav Singh presented comedy and the participants were given prizes.

All the residents of the Ashram enjoyed the event and all were given various useful things and meal.

May the blessings of Guruji Maharaj bring peace, happiness and prosperity to the members of Lions Club or CBD Belapur and Blessings Bahu Uddeshiya Samajik Sanstha.

    

Holi Milan By Helping Hand

25th March 2017

Like every year Helping Hand arranged an entertainment program (Holi Milan) at the Ashram Premises on 25^th March, 2017, for the Cancer Patients staying here.

They started their program with a small speech of introduction by Mr. Prem Srivastava, a veteran social worker.  Then Mrs. Geeta S Advani and Swmai Prashantananda gave short speeches inviting and encouraging the Cancer Patients.  Mrs Aparajita Sinha recited a poetry from Katha o Kahini by Rabindranath Tagore. Then there was a Magic Show by Mr Sanjay Kumar. The Magician involved the patients and children in his magic and the show was very entertaining. After this a game session followed.  This was very well enjoyed by the patients. Mr Surendra Gokhale & team presented a wornderful musical show. Dr Sangeeta Jevtani gave an awareness  talk. A Q&A session also followed, the Doctor discussed many important matters regarding Cancer with the patients. Later on there were various competitions for the patients. The winners received prizes. At the end there was a sumptuous lunch for all the inmates of the Ashram.
